The city of La Plata had the privilege of being one of the pioneers of aviation in the country thanks to the engineer Antonio Borello . Borello built in the late
, 1909 its first aircraft, named "El Argentino ." He did it in a tent that had lent Joseph Figari, in diagonal triangle 77, Calle 9 and Calle 42. At its completion he was transferred to a track that had been set at 66 and 124 but not to got me up and draft the Argentine could not be realized. The engineer gave up and later had built another plane, dubbed "The Colorado " which if successful and may even Villa Lugano 9 July 1913.
The May 24, 1914, the Colorado is Estrella against the bridge of the General Belgrano which was moored in the James River Base. The plane was completely destroyed, but is repaired in the workshops of the Naval Base and fly again. Borello 
also help to establish by Calle 60 on the road to Berisso , the airfield of the Province of Buenos Aires, where pilot courses were held. This was the first aviation academy in the country, where were trained among others, the official Navy Oitavos Argentina and brothers Jose and Gerardo Artigau, who served in the Air France company .
