The Sisters of La Plata

In an early blog entries was told how the plane layout of the city, studying the plans of 64 cities in the world that are detailed in the book "Universal Atlas of World Geography", acquired by Dardo Rocha. And so great was the impact it had this unique city, that there are two cities in Argentina "sister" of La Plata, the plans were based on the capital designed by engineer Peter Benoit .

The first is the town of Mariano Benitez, a town of nearly 200 people located in Pergamino party north of the province of Buenos Aires. It was founded on September 8, 1908 (26 years after La Plata) against a railroad station that c omunicaba Pergamino Rosario. The author the track is Reynaldo Standke engineer, who was an admirer of Benoit and also belonged to the Masons, since he was drafted into the Fraternity Lodge No. 53 in the city of Pergamino. As in La Plata, the route of this people has a central plaza, to which come four diagonal blocks in their way are triangular and trapezoidal shape. This people grew to 1200 inhabitants in the late 1910's, but the station closed l rail this number dropped dramatically.

The other location i Nspire in the city of La Plata is called "New Silver " and is located about 16km from the city of Pehuajó , west of the province of Buenos Aires. The connection between this town and La Plata is a curious history: It was founded on December 1, 1888 (six years after La Plata) by Rafael Hernández In honor of his brother José Hernández (author of Martín Fierro , and the name of the capital of the province of Buenos Aires), who had died two years earlier. This village of 300 inhabitants, like their apples Mariano Benitez has two diagonals crossed by changing its name to pass through the central plaza.
